Lake Leake is the name of both a lake and a small township in the eastern highlands of Tasmania and has a population of 176.
Back in the 1880s, named after Charles Henry Leake, a member of the Tasmanian Legislative council, this lake was created to supply water to the township of Campbell Town. Today it is a premium trout water, regularly stocked with Brown and Rainbow Trout, offering some of Tasmania's best early and late season wet fly-fishing.
Turn north off the B34, 34km east of Campbell Town or 30km west of the Tasman Highway(A3), Drive 4km along an unsealed access road to Lake Leake Inn and Lake Leake.
